In agreement with the municipal authorities and the SIS Clos-du-Doubs, the Course des Rangiers is organizing the following fire safety measures:

1. The pastures used by competitors and the public will be mowed as short as possible during the week preceding the event.
2. Around fifteen A3-size signs stating "FEUX INTERDITS" will be placed in these areas.
3. In the "sensitive" public areas, Grippons - Malrang - Susten, the presence of track marshals will be increased to ensure compliance with these regulations.
4. In the grass competitor paddock and in town, at Pré-l'Abbé, hoses connected to hydrants will be deployed preventively and kept ready for immediate intervention.
5. Along the course, several water reserves will be available: at the exit of the town, at Grippons, at Malrang and at the finish, providing more than 25,000 litres of water in total.
6. The SIS "La Baroche" will be on alert for any intervention on the upper part of the course, in support of our safety measures.
7. The Centre de Renfort Incendie d'Ajoie will be on site not only for extrication operations, but also to provide support with special equipment for forest fires.
8. As usual, the local SIS will be present with personnel and equipment.
9. The Centrale d'Engagement Cantonale will be on alert and informed of our safety measures.
10. In the event of non-compliance with the safety rules, the race will be immediately stopped in order to reprimand those responsible.
11. In the event of a fire, wherever it occurs, the race will be immediately stopped and the emergency response will be initiated by the following persons: Safety Officer Thierry Piquerez, Deputy Race Director Pascal Favre and Commander of the local SIS Ludovic Marchand. These three persons will always remain together at post 5, at the exit of the town.
12. In order to avoid overloading telephone and radio communications, as well as to coordinate decisions and movements, the contact person between the Centrale d'Engagement Cantonale, the race management and the on-site emergency response team will be the Deputy Race Director.
13. The organizer will distribute pocket ashtrays in the most critical areas – purchase of 2,500 units.

This is our most comprehensive safety and fire-response plan, and we hope we will not have to use it.
